We know you may have questions before booking your first appointment. Whether you're considering vitamin injections, reflexology or one of our mobile services, we've answered some of the questions we're most commonly asked below. If you can't find what you're looking for, please get in touch. We're always happy to help.
1. What services does Vitality Balance offer?
Vitality Balance offers a range of services designed to support your health and wellbeing, including vitamin injections and reflexology.
Full information about each treatment can be found on our individual service pages, including what each service involves and what you can expect.
Mobile appointments are also available for selected services.
2. What happens after I book an appointment?
Once you've booked, you'll receive a confirmation email along with any information you need before attending.
Where required, this will include a link to your online consultation form. Please complete this as soon as possible so we can review your information and assess whether your chosen treatment is appropriate for you.
If anything needs further discussion, we'll contact you or discuss it face-to-face at your appointment.
3. Is my personal and medical information confidential?
Yes. Information provided during your consultation is treated confidentially and handled in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.
We only request information relevant to providing you with a safe and appropriate service.
4. What vitamin injections do you offer?
Vitality Balance offers a selection of vitamin injections for wellbeing purposes.
You can find detailed information about the vitamins currently available, their roles within the body and our services on the Vitamin Injection section of our website.
All treatments are subject to individual suitability.
5. How do I know which vitamin injection is right for me?
Different vitamins perform different functions within the body, so there isn't one injection that's right for everyone.
Our website provides information about the individual vitamins we offer. However, symptoms such as tiredness, low energy or poor concentration can have many different causes and shouldn't automatically be assumed to result from a vitamin deficiency.
If you're experiencing persistent or unexplained symptoms, we may recommend speaking to your GP or another appropriate healthcare professional.
6. Can anyone have a vitamin injection?
No. Vitamin injections aren't suitable for everyone.
Your health, medical history, medications, allergies and other relevant factors need to be considered before treatment.
Completing your consultation form accurately allows us to assess your suitability before you attend.
7. Why do I need to complete my consultation online before my appointment?
Completing your consultation in advance allows us to review your health information and assess your eligibility before you travel to your appointment.
This is particularly important for treatments where a prescription is required, as it allows the necessary clinical process to be completed beforehand where appropriate.
If we need any additional information, we'll contact you or discuss this with you when you attend.
8. Do I need a prescription for a vitamin injection?
Some treatments may require an appropriate prescription.
Where this applies, your completed consultation allows your eligibility to be assessed before your appointment and the necessary prescription arrangements to be made where appropriate.
Completing a consultation does not guarantee that a treatment or prescription will be suitable for you.
9. Do I need a blood test before having a vitamin injection?
This depends on the treatment and your individual circumstances.
Symptoms associated with vitamin deficiencies can also have other causes. Where your symptoms or medical history suggest that further investigation would be appropriate, we may recommend speaking to your GP or another appropriate healthcare professional before treatment.
10. Can vitamin injections help with tiredness?
Vitamin deficiencies can contribute to symptoms such as tiredness and fatigue, but there are many other possible causes, including stress, poor sleep, anaemia and underlying health conditions.
Correcting an identified deficiency may be beneficial, but vitamin injections shouldn't be considered a universal treatment for tiredness.
Persistent or unexplained fatigue should be discussed with an appropriate healthcare professional.
11. How quickly will I notice a difference after a vitamin injection?
Everyone responds differently.
Some people report noticing a difference relatively quickly, while others may notice gradual changes or no obvious immediate effect.
Your experience will depend on your individual circumstances and nutritional status, so we don't guarantee a particular result or timeframe.
12. How often can I have vitamin injections?
The appropriate frequency depends on the vitamin and your individual circumstances.
More isn't necessarily better, which is why treatments should be provided at an appropriate frequency rather than according to a one-size-fits-all schedule.
We'll advise you on appropriate intervals for your chosen service.
13. Can I have more than one vitamin injection at the same appointment?
This will depend on the treatments you're considering and your individual suitability.
Please let us know what you're interested in so this can be considered alongside your consultation before treatment.
14. Do vitamin injections hurt and are there side effects?
Most people experience only brief discomfort during an injection. Some temporary tenderness, redness or discomfort around the injection site can occur afterwards.
As with any treatment, side effects are possible. Relevant risks, precautions and aftercare will be discussed with you so that you can make an informed decision before proceeding.
15. Can I have vitamin injections if I'm pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or have a medical condition?
Please provide all relevant health information on your consultation form, including pregnancy or breastfeeding, medical conditions, allergies and current medications.
These don't necessarily mean you can't receive treatment, but suitability must be assessed individually. In some circumstances, we may recommend speaking to your GP, midwife or another appropriate healthcare professional before proceeding.
16. What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a complementary therapy involving the application of specific pressure techniques, most commonly to areas of the feet.
Many people choose reflexology as an opportunity to relax, unwind and dedicate some time to their overall wellbeing.
You can learn more about the treatment and our approach on our Reflexology page.
17. Is reflexology the same as a foot massage?
No. Although both may feel relaxing, reflexology uses specific techniques and works with mapped reflex areas of the feet or hands rather than simply massaging them.
18. Does reflexology hurt? What if I'm ticklish?
Reflexology should generally feel comfortable and relaxing.
Some areas can occasionally feel more sensitive than others, and the pressure can always be adjusted to suit you.
If you're ticklish, don't worry. Reflexology uses deliberate, purposeful pressure rather than the light touch normally associated with tickling, and many people who consider themselves ticklish find it isn't a problem.
19. What should I wear to my reflexology appointment?
There's no need for special clothing. We recommend wearing something comfortable so you can relax fully during your treatment. For foot reflexology, you'll normally only need to remove your shoes and socks.
20. Can reflexology treat medical conditions?
Reflexology is a complementary wellbeing therapy and isn't a replacement for conventional healthcare.
We don't claim that reflexology diagnoses, treats or cures medical conditions.
Many people choose reflexology for relaxation, dedicated self-care time and as part of their wider approach to wellbeing.
21. How often should I have reflexology?
There isn't one schedule that's suitable for everyone.
Some people enjoy regular appointments as part of their wellbeing routine, while others book occasionally when they feel they need some dedicated relaxation time.
There's no pressure to commit to a course of treatments.
22. Do you offer mobile appointments and is there an additional charge?
Yes. Vitality Balance offers mobile appointments for selected services, allowing you to receive your treatment in the comfort of your own home. There is no additional charge for our mobile service.
Availability will depend on your location and the service required, so please contact us to confirm whether we're able to offer a mobile appointment in your area.
The same consultation and suitability requirements apply to mobile appointments.
23. What happens if something changes after I've completed my consultation or I'm not eligible for treatment?
Please let us know if anything changes after completing your consultation, such as starting a new medication, receiving a new diagnosis, becoming pregnant or developing an allergy.
If your consultation indicates that your chosen treatment isn't appropriate, we'll discuss this with you before proceeding.
Where necessary, we may recommend speaking to your GP or another appropriate healthcare professional.
Your wellbeing and safety always come first.
24. I'm not sure whether a treatment is suitable for me. Can I contact you before booking?
Absolutely. If you're unsure about a treatment or have a question that isn't answered on our website, please get in touch before booking.
We're happy to explain the services we provide and answer questions within our professional scope.
If we believe your concern would be better assessed by your GP or another healthcare professional, we'll always be honest and advise you accordingly.
We want you to feel comfortable, informed and confident before your appointment.
If there's anything we haven't answered, please get in touch with Vitality Balance and we'll be happy to help.
Your wellbeing matters, and asking questions is always welcome.
